Aubrina and Robby at school!

We feel very lucky to have the kids in such a great school. The school is small and all the teachers know both Aubrina and Robby well, even though they're in different classrooms. Every day I get reports from different teachers (even teachers from other classrooms) about how great Aubrina is when she visits Robby, or how when they're all in the play yard she tries to find him. I finally got some pictures of the two of them together!  It makes me feel good knowing that Aubrina is close by, especially on days when Robby cries when I leave him in the morning.

Dinner time with an infant and a toddler

Because I'll want to remember this someday:

After we got home from school and work today, I hurried to make dinner for Aubrina and me, and a simple dinner of rice cereal and sweet potatoes for Robby. Robby was crying in his high chair wanting me to move faster, because as soon as he sees that food is being prepared, his patience flies out the window.

Aubrina was very helpful, getting a bib ready for Robby, and patiently waiting for me to lift her into her chair so that she could start eating. I put the bowl of rice cereal and sweet potatoes on the tray in front of Robby. He was crying and grabbing at the spoon, but he doesn't quite have those motor skills yet so it was more like wild batting.

We're all sitting ready to eat. Aubrina asks for milk. Darn it, I forgot the milk. I was just going to start shoveling the food in Robby's mouth because I know he's starving. "Ok Aubrina, I'll get you some milk. Thank you for asking so nicely." (She's been practicing saying please and thank you.) I come back with the milk and am greeted with three consecutive "Thank you mommy"s. I say "You're welcome, Aubrina" and think to myself that I have the best kids, as I sit back down and reach for Robby's spoon.

Oops, while I was up Robby overturned his bowl onto his lap. No big deal, babies are messy eaters! I'll clean that sticky, yucky mess up after dinner, because this kid wants to eat NOW! I get up to get another jar of baby food. As I sit down and give Robby a few bites, Aubrina (who is such a picky eater that lately she even turns up her nose when I'm at my wits end and OFFER her some babyfood) is now jealous and wants to eat what Robby is eating. Get back up, Momma, get your daughter some babyfood. At least she'll be getting some fruits and veggies, right? But remember to hurry back because the little man is calling. I start feeding Robby again, and Aubrina quickly finishes her jar and asks for more, so I get up to get her some more. She starts on the next jar, and now Robby has eaten all of his and wants some more. Get up to get him some more...

Finally, SIX jars of babyfood later (plus Aubrina's regular dinner), both of my babies were happy and well fed. And I got some exercise. That would be a 'Win-Win-Win.' :)
